Dzogchen: Spacious Passion - The Geography of the Elements, Retreat with Ngak’chang Rinpoche & Khadro Dechen - Fri 17th to Sun 19th October 2025
Date: Friday 17th to Sunday 19th October 2025
Time: Arrive Friday evening, closing Sunday afternoon
Format: Residential Retreat, Onsite
Overview
Vajrayana Buddhism, explains the emotions and elements as the portal of possibility. The elements: earth, water, fire, air, and space are a continuum which runs through both the physical world and the visionary world. We shall explore this vivid matrix and delve the natural symbolism of the phenomenal world. Seeing the five Buddha families as both sense fields and the environment, opens the possibility of appreciative empathetic communication with reality.
Dzogchen allows the most painful and most joyous emotions to expand into their innately limitless condition. These teachings are not for those without strong emotions, or without the courage to experience their heights and depths as an opportunity to be totally alive. We explore the nature of duality and nonduality in such a way as to break open the mechanism of delusion. Once seen – this mechanism can never again suppress natural dignity This weekend will include teachings on lucid-dream practice and yogic song. Although the Lamas are Nyingma, the teaching will be suitable for all schools of Buddhism - at all levels of experience - as questions are welcome throughout.
Khandro Déchen said “Through self-liberation of emotions, we can explode the banal confines of our addiction to the circular treadmill mediocrity.”
