The kittens that arrived at Lam Rim, Wales

When I finished sweeping the kitchen floor and putting away the last of the lunch dishes, four cute faces appeared at the kitchen door. There were never many cats around the village, only one, so I suspected they were the kittens of Suki, the local cat that we already knew and loved.

When the rest of the volunteers and residents got back from their daily walk on the prayer path, I knew they too would fall in love.

“Can we get a cat house built?” John immediately said and went away to build one.

“Let's get them some food,” Graham followed and found something in the pantry.

The rest of us cared too and found them a comfortable spot near the hedge, just besides the lounge.

Now that they've settled, and we too have settled with their tiny tails and peaceful smiles, we've all agreed to officially adopt the cat family and get them set up with worming, neutering and taming.

Each day, we wake up again and again and settle more and more together as a community with Suki and her kittens. Whenever we need love, they are always there and whenever we need silence, they too are always there. Their nurturing is as profound as their sweetness and their beauty as well as the fountain of joy that Buddha told us about.

We hope you'll come by and visit us and too find ease in the day at Lam Rim with Suki and her kittens around.
