Lam Rim Wales being refurbished
Lam Rim Wales has been growing and reforming itself since we opened the doors again last year.
Not only have we been busy working with Ceris on forming and implementing plans to sustain a beautiful garden to facilitate deep rest, inspiration and meditation, we’ve also been hard at work clearing and redecorating the house so that we can use the Centre in its full beauty for all our visitors that are seeking an enjoyable, peaceful and supportive space.
Our kitchen is redecorated and is now being used by our trained volunteers in catering to provide healthy and sustainable lunches and breakfasts.
Our upstairs bathrooms have had profesional plumbing and decorating, thanks to our volunteers, Billy and Diane who joined us for a week from Manchester.
Our bedrooms have been thoughtfully prepared by a handful of our resident and visiting volunteers, giving them a cosy and relaxing look and feel. You’ll be pleased to know that the old attic is also cleared and cleaned so we can now once again use this space and enjoy the wonderful views of the sugar loaf mountain.
We´ve also been through all the corners, cupboards and cabinets, digging out memories and finding further inspiration to continue with the journey of Lam Rim Wales and the light that it brings to many.
We are also finally pleased to share the news that our new fire alarm system will be in place this summer, ready to open the Centre as a full retreat house again.
As we see the progress of all the work being carried out at Lam Rim Wales, we are always reminded of the generous help and support that we receive from our community in order to keep the Centre alive and well.
Here we share some of the photos that we captured of our work and progress this year.
With the warmest of wishes
Anneka
